Re: 2020 Chevy Bolt EV Battery Capacity Anecdotal Observation

I had a 2017 for three years (lease) then got a 2020. I live and drive in SF Bay Area. Mild weather year round. In the 2017 I almost always got 238 miles per full charge. In the 2020 I almost always get 259 miles on a full charge. The 2020 also takes 1 hour longer to charge on a Level 2 EVSE. It see...

Re: Towing behind RV/ regenerative charging

Yes. Completely doable. Towing with power on would be like going downhill. Forever. However the car would have to be in Drive which means it would try to creep forward when you stopped the RV. I don't know what it would do if it tried to push and couldn't. Probably nothing. If you put it in L it wou...

Re: Red Tail lights?

I found out it's a government rule. The lights in the rear have to be stationary, so because the lights go up with the hatch, there have to be other lights, so Chevy added the extra ones. That is exactly right. Those are "auxiliary" brake lights / tail lights if you park or even drive wit...

Re: Tire Pressure, Miles per kWh & Range ..

Paul-

How much did you pay for 4 tires?

I paid $750 at time of lease for a "scratch, dent, and excessive wear waiver" which includes tires. I can return my 3/36,000 lease with bald tires and can go 1500 miles over 36,000.

Re: Cameras didn't turn off

Happened to me once. In my 2020 Bolt.
Was fun for a while. But since it was locked on the video could not use the radio.

Charge interruptions

Hi- It's been a long time since I posted because the Bolt has been virtually trouble free. I have noticed a few times, about 1 out of 4 times, that if I use the My Chevrolet App to check on my car while it is charging on a public level 2 charger, it temporarily stops the charging for 1 or 2 minutes ...

Re: 2020 owners!

I've only done it twice. And never bottom to top all at once. But with outside temps in the 60's I get this:

I have a graph that I saved as .jpg but I can't get it to post here. Any ideas?

Re: 2020 owners!

Thanks. Looks like keeping the battery low is the best method to save time at a DCFC. Lower end speed of charge looks better than the 2017 model year. But the top end of charging is as slow or maybe slower than before.

Darn. I'm sure these decisions are made for good reason.

Re: So are we all going to end up buying our cars after our leases are up?

Deals are amazing through at least Feb3. I traded in my 2017 LT for a 2020 LT. Payments are $100 less per month for the same terms as before. After 6 years I will have paid 85% of MSRP for one car. Shopped around and there were no EV's I liked better. I'm SURE in 3 years there will be more choices. ...

Re: Must have Mods for Bolt EV

Change of tire had an immeasurable affect on range for me.

I went a year on the stock "A" rated tires and 2 years on Riken Raptor "AA" rated tires and then recently went back to stock. Didn't notice anything different.
