Re: RECALL

It is to soon to know and as of now there is no timeline for any repair, if such a thing is even possible at this point. The stop sale is in effect for every Bolt and we now know that even a fresh battery pack that came off the assembly line just last week carries the same fire risk as all the other...

Re: RECALL

Yes, I hope we find out some details. But it also seems to be another case of someone discharging pretty low fairly often. So that could be a trigger also. But the main point would still be that the final software update was unaware of a cell problem and didn't warn the owner. Then the "alarm&q...

Re: RECALL

No issues found with my 2017 (26K miles). I suspect they aren't finding very many given the handful of cars that burned. Other than needing to fix a lot of my settings once back from the dealer it is back to normal and I can charge away from home again. With the temp fix, communication problems prev...

Re: Software Update For Range

I found this. It's for the Volt but probably it applies.

Re: Chevy build & price is deceitful

Nothing deceitful about it and no reason to panic, or even post about it. GM isn't a small organization you know. The information has to filter through a lot of departments. Then their IT department has to work through what is changing, test it, and then schedule the production change through their ...

Re: Did I do Any Damage?

Yes, perfectly normal. Mine does too on our slight slope of a driveway. Even our Forester makes a racket when it self-applies braking. I don't know how cars apply braking but much more dramatic than me stepping on the pedal.

Re: RECALL

Yes, I just made an appointment at the area Bolt-certified dealer but then got my notice in the mail a few days later. They're working on it today.

Re: Extension cord use for 2020 Bolt

A 110v 15AMP cord will work using the home wall socket. Just get a good contractor grade cord, not some cheap $15 one. Set the car to 12amps (which is 80% of 15amps, the safety rating), or the 8amp setting and that will work. The 8amp setting especially in older homes that could have marginal wiring...

Re: Keeping the 2020 Bolt plugged in

As a side note for new owners in cold areas (I'm in Chicago), I get a text alert when it hits 0 degrees F that I should keep the car plugged in to prevent battery damage. Now that is a generic warning since the battery, if above 40% SOC, can keep itself warm. But you may have it parked for days at a...

Re: The Chevy Bolt Requires Little Maintenance

Ah, no. Got my 2017 used which now has 26K miles and my under hood looks basically new, including Chicago winters. I could almost eat off it in there. I just remove a few leaves up at the vent intake. Might depend on the area since if I still lived in AZ I'd probably need to blow some dust out of it...
