Re: Bolt has gone haywire

Same thing happened to me back in June and still has not been fixed. My idiot dealer blamed the battery and replaced it twice. The third time it happened, the finally bothered to try to diagnose it and determined the fuse block was bad. That was over a month ago and I still don't have a fixed one; t...

Re: 1st Malfunction

I've had this happen but it has nothing to do with the rear view camera; it's really a process in the display unit freezing. I've had it happen with just the regular audio screen, as well as with the rear view display. When the bug occurs, music no longer plays (even if it's through the AUX port) an...

Re: EV Owners Unfairly Targeted in New Gas Tax Bill

I'd be a little upset if the new tax were only for EVs but it's not; the tax increase on both gas and electric cars is clearly designed to be similar. I drive 20k miles per year and if I had a 35 mpg gas car I'd pay $106/year extra. With the EV I'd pay $100/year extra. Basically the same.

Re: Death to pedestrians!

Bicycles do not have a pedestrian warning sound and they move faster than 14 mph. Keep that in mind before talking about dead pedestrians; we are dealing with extremely low speeds here, and also the car is not quiet and is really easy to hear when it's using the motor or the regeneration.

Re: Death to pedestrians!

LOL! So, is that why my Bolt honks at me (3 quick honks) when I step in front of it while it's running to look at or get something? No it's not. That is not the pedestrian warning sound and in fact is not on the base Bolt at all. My car has no external sensors whatsoever. The pedestrian warning sou...

Re: Please stop the orange!

I think it's a nice orange and is a more unique color, very easy to find in parking lots. But also of course it just looks good. What I hate are all of the silver cars that are everywhere. So bland.

Re: Death to pedestrians!

The manual has a fuse diagram and the relevant fuse is labelled in it. It's easy to find; it's adjacent to two empty fuse slots.

Re: 1kw draw when idle (no climate controls on)

It actually does display 0.5 kW; when moving give it a tiny bit of "gas" and you can get it to show 0.5 kW of regen or 0.5 kW of draw. But after that it rounds to the nearest kW. However when idle I suspect it is programmed to just show 1 kW whenever draw is < 1.5 kW because it says 1 kW e...

Re: How to set max charge to ANY percent

I love it! It's so simple yet so clever. Thanks for sharing! Does the Bolt have an easy charging override button? My Leaf has a prominent button on the dash. If I push it, it ignores those settings and charges immediately to 100%. Yes it does. You click a "Temporary Override" tab, then cl...

Re: Parking car at airport

The BMS is *not* active when the car is not plugged in. Are we sure about this? It would seem the car should be able to regulate its battery temperature when it is parked at work in 100+ degree heat. This might be for 8-10 hours per day, so about half the life of the car? I am sure because that's w...
