Re: Measured battery capacity 63.2 kWh

Thanks for the details, much appreciated. I would hesitate to put a percentage on your degradation loss though. You are comparing a measured value to a marketing value. It would be much better to track the measured numbers over time. Last time I measured my 2017 Bolt, I was showing 57kWh. That was ...

Re: Measured battery capacity 63.2 kWh

This is similar to my results. See my article 2020 Chevy Bolt EV Battery Capacity Anecdotal Observation on this web site. My conclusion was 64 kWh from purchase to 2,000 miles. My take is that marketing took control of the numbers when LG Chem began building batteries in Michigan. Paul Yes, I did s...

Measured battery capacity 63.2 kWh

I got a 2020 about a year ago, just over 10K miles driven so far. Battery has been gently treated, only above 85% a few times for a few planned trips. I fully charged the car and took a 210 mile round trip, speeds generally just under 70 except a few times in construction zones or traffic dropped to...

Hopefully they will install multi position stations. Too risky to use if only one station

Re: Need tips on traveling from Los Angeles to SF

Electrify America is best, in my opinion, for travel because they generally have 4, 6, 8, or even more charging positions. Little chance of being unable to charge due to breakdown or someone else being there. The others frequently have only a single CCS position. Plugshare tells you exactly for each...

Re: Electrify America EV Charging Payment SNAFU

I had a somewhat similar "payment declined" problem but it seemed to be related to the fact that it was a brand-new, never before used EA account. On advice of the EA rep, I used their app and had no problem charging along 395. The "tap your phone" option didn't work for me.

Los Angeles to Lake Tahoe in our Bolt

For those who have been reluctant to take a challenging trip in a Bolt, our experiences may be reassuring. My wife and I drove from West Los Angeles (essentially sea level) to Lake Tahoe (6200 feet) and back. Total distance about 950 miles with several 7000 foot plus passes along the way. We relied ...

Re: experience with lease return process?

We turned in two Volts recently. We did NOT do an advance inspection, just turned them in. They both had worn tires and bad curb rash on the rims. One of the cars had significant scuffs on the bumpers We replaced the Volts with leased Bolts so GM did not charge the normal lease termination fee, and ...

The curves are not plausible. Until whoever created that shows where their data came from, it should be ignored.

Re: Should I buy a 2020?

Are you saying you made it Victorville-Vegas-Victorville on one charge? Almost all of it used on the outbound leg?

Or did you recharge in Vegas?
