Re: Driving in L uses More Energy?

Yes, it can. Every time you take energy in and out of the battery there is an inefficiency. To driver perfectly in Low you must perfectly reflect your intention in the pressure you put on the accelerator. The most energy efficient way to drive is to actually coast in neutral, but you cant' do that l...

Rebates and Credits in California

I'm in the market for a new EV soon. I realized after buying my Bolt that I missed out on some obscure rebates etc the last time around. For example, in 2017 it was possible to join the California Farm Bureau for about $50. After you were a member for a month or two of membership you were eligible f...

Re: Just bought a new 2021 Bolt and the AC doesn't work

I get that its a tricky proposition in the age of automatic climate control for Chevy, They want to be able to disable the higher electric draw of heat and AC , but do you do it with one master switch or two? It bothered me a lot more when the car was new, but after a while I tend to just leave the ...

Re: Just bought a new 2021 Bolt and the AC doesn't work

With respect - its likely user error. I don't know if the controls are different in the 21, but make sure you set the desired temperature to be lower than the outside temperature, and lower than the temp inside the car - to be safe set it to the lowest setting available. Next, turn up the fan to hig...

Re: HD Surround Vision

Its been that way since 2017. The car you see in that view is like an icon, or sprite, its a generic car shown by the computer not actually seen by any camera. The other camera views like front and rear parking camera can see your actual bumper, hence it being the correct color. To some degree Chevy...

Re: Seat swap update - need an expert in airbags

Its a little odd, the experience from one forum to another. I'm also active on the Delorean owners boards. There are only a few thousand Deloreans out there - but I'd venture there is some similarity to the the owners of both vehicles - maybe we trend a little technical - maybe more engineers than c...

Seat swap update - need an expert in airbags

I'm happy to tinker with the car to try to fix its shortcomings. I came up with the foam trick for the seat bottoms (but didn't post the video), swapping the sunvisors for the telescopic ones, and I've experimented with electronic pest repellers until I found one that's kept the mice out of my front...

Re: Charging at Electrify America

I went to an EA site in San Diego yesterday, and it failed miserably, on two levels. First, the chip readers in the pay stations don't work, but when swiping the card the card does read so eventually I figured that out. Yes the charge cords are too short, barely long enough to reach the the plug on ...
