Re: Design defect in 110v charger

Painting it white is probably the simplest solution. Unless you can find an outlet that isn't in the direct sun.

Re: VINDICATED: Finally - GM to launch updated vehicle navigation system

Here's another reason. My Mini SE has built-in nav. It has a "green-routing" option not available via Google or Apple maps. Moreover, it knows the state of charge of the car and can find charging stations along my current route. I can find a charging station along my route based on my curr...

Re: VINDICATED: Finally - GM to launch updated vehicle navigation system

I could not disagree with you more on this issues. Having the software on the phone is awesome. Also, it is too late for me, but the 2022 Bolt has wireless CarPlay, so you don't even have to plug it in. 1) Case in point: my 20005 totally loaded Honda Accord with navigation. This cost a pretty penny...

Re: Mileage/charge limitation after using Electrify America

I have not seen this issue before. Your actual situation is hard to follow/understand. Instead of referring to "miles", what is the battery's state of charge? You can get it in 5% increments from the dash (there are 20 bars on the left). You can get it in 1% increments from the app. Instea...

Re: Bolt convenience question

The Bolt's app uses the cellular system, so the "range" is essentially unlimited. It does have to be set up for your car; my salesman did that for me. It does NOT react instantly, the delay is apparently dependent on the cellular system. You do not need to be subscribed ot OnStar for the ...

Re: Bolt convenience question

Wow, that's awful! I would not pay $24 for the basic service. I don't think I would pay half that.

Re: Measured battery capacity 63.2 kWh

Thanks for the details, much appreciated. I would hesitate to put a percentage on your degradation loss though. You are comparing a measured value to a marketing value. It would be much better to track the measured numbers over time. Last time I measured my 2017 Bolt, I was showing 57kWh. That was a...

Re: How do you disengage the cruise control in single pedal L mode?

I use the "cancel" button on the steering wheel more often, but will use either method. I have found that it's easy to reach with my thumb without looking. It is the closest to the outside of the wheel. Pressing the brake pedal also cancels cruise control, but I rarely use that method with...

Re: Use of the cargo well - 2020 Bolt LT

I thought about removing it, but I think it supplies some support for the (flimsy) floor? YMMV This. I tried removing it and using it to store my stash of EVSEs and extension cords. But that floor just caves in without it. I've thought about fitting a thin piece of plywood across the gap, but haven...

Re: The Chevy Bolt Is the Ugly Car of the (Very Near) Future

boy we are getting OT, but it's ok. The Bolt is definitely not ugly at all in my eyes. It's not double counting if it's done right. Eliminating gasoline increase your e-cost, and solar PV reduces that cost. In my case, I even converted the home furnace & water heater to heat-pumps. So my "...
