Re: free charging at Electrify America

I think I'd rather do a road trip to LA, but the COVID situation also doesn't seem to be great there either. :( The COVID situation in LA County is better than the media impression, because, county-wide, we have a better vaccination rate than our surrounding counties. I'll have to take a look at th...

Re: 10 Years of Driving Chevy EV's

I've been driving pure BEVs as my primary car over 8 years now. I've been w/o an ICEV in the household since end of Jan 2019. - Started with leased '13 Leaf end of July 2013. - Bought a used '13 Leaf to replace it in mid-July 2015. - Returned 1st Leaf a few weeks later. - Got '19 Bolt at end of Jan ...

Re: free charging at Electrify America

Seems like every time EA has free juice, p7wang over at chevybolt.org suggests a road trip to Vegas. :) Too bad it's such a long drive for me (even in an ICEV) and at last check, the COVID situation isn't good in Clark County, NV. And, I'm not much a gambler so it wouldn't be a worthwhile trip for m...

Re: 2022 Bolt Owner Questions

If it's like all previous Bolts, it's a guess-o-meter. Ignore it. https://www.chevybolt.org/threads/massive-drop-on-the-range-display-gom-guess-o-meter.35080/ https://www.mynissanleaf.com/viewtopic.php?p=271853#p271853 is just as true for Bolt as it is for Leaf. The battery needs to get too hot or t...

Re: RECALL

Two new docs popped up at NHTSA. There is a stop sale once again (no surprise) on the recalled '17 to '19 Bolts. https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2021/RCSB-21V560-6354.pdf https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2020/RCSB-20V701-6348.pdf Learned of it via a PM and post at https://www.chevybolt.org/threads/...

Re: free charging at Electrify America

I can confirm the pic in the tweet. Saw it on EA DC FCs yesterday and took advantage of some free CCS juice. At the site I was at, a Kona EV showed up (1st time for the person publicly charging, said they only had the car for two days, seemed to be her BF's car) and charged up. Afterward, a Bolt sho...

Re: RECALL

If you haven't gotten snail mail, you should be able to put in your VIN into https://www.nhtsa.gov/recalls and https://my.chevrolet.com/recalls to check about your open recalls. All '17 and '18 Bolts + a subset of '19 were under the potential fire battery recall. There's no need to wait to be contac...

Re: RECALL

As I posted at MNL but with some minor edits: The final procedure for covering all the recalled vehicles (all '17 and '18 + subset of '19) is up at https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2020/RCSB-20V701-3618.pdf. As usual, there was a lag before appearing at NHTSA. The '17 and '18 final remedy came out o...
