Re: Test-drove a Bolt twice today (LT and Premiere)

Guys, numerous journalists have already reported achieving or exceeding the 238-mile stated range, but it is a mixed-mode range, not a highway-only range. Also even the EPA's highway test is not literally 65+ mph nonstop. But it's the same exact test used for all electric cars so the range is direct...

Re: Purchase / Lease details

While I will probably get the Sticker since I live in CA, I do NOT find them all that useful. Usually the car pool lanes clog within minutes of the main freeway. I ride a motorcycle (free HOV lane access) and can confirm this is true on most roads. The HOV lane is usually not faster and sometimes i...

Re: Test-drove a Bolt twice today (LT and Premiere)

OK, more specifics on braking: in regular drive mode, when you release the 'gas' pedal, only a small amount of regeneration is activated, not being a pure coast but mostly allowing you to coast with a bit of resistance. If you hold down the left paddle, the regeneration amount will steadily increase...

Re: Test-drove a Bolt twice today (LT and Premiere)

I looked at numerous new Bolts and test-drove another Premiere and have some more feedback. But first, to answer someone's question, there is no built-in navigation; instead you pair an Android or Apple smartphone with the device and it basically clones your phone's screen and functionality, so you ...

Re: Test drive at San Diego Auto Show

Yup, see my "test drove a Bolt twice today" post. Not only did I test-drive it at the auto show but I even got a test drive at my dealer which happened to have just received a spare.

Test-drove a Bolt twice today (LT and Premiere)

I went to the San Diego Auto Show early today to be one of the first in line to test-drive the Bolt, which ended up being the LT. The outward visibility was quite acceptable; much much better than the horrible Volt, and also better than the Prius and Hyundai Ioniq. The side windows were very large, ...

Re: I Drove Bolt Today...

Tire grip does not worry me because tires are easily replaced (except on the BMW i3 with its extremely unusual wheel size). Stock tires on all fuel-efficient or electric cars are ultra-low rolling-resistance tires but they are usually best replaced with something more versatile. A grippier tire not ...

Re: I Drove Bolt Today...

For those of you that have driven it, what is the forward visibility like? I test drove a Volt (the plug-in hybrid) and liked everything about it except the very narrow front windshield which was a dealbreaker for me. Do you get better forward visibility in the Bolt?

Re: Review from LA Auto Show

Sorry to revive a somewhat old thread, but for those of you that have sat in it, can you compare the forward visibility with that of the 2016+ Volt? I liked almost everything about the Volt but found the front windshield so narrow that it was a deal-breaker, because I don't enjoy driving as much if ...
