Re: speed limiter

I understand now: you rwo only tolerate your point of view and feel compelled to be the speech police!

I dislike many points if view, but I don’t browbeat the speakers for making their point.

I made my point, and so long as I am not persoally attacked again, I am done with making my point.

Re: speed limiter

Anyone who hacks the max speed limit and then is involved in a serious accident will be subject to punitive damages which will not be covered by their auto insurance. Speculation... The only thing speculative is whether or not you are hacking your Bolt and driving with excessive and dangerous speed...

mwk wrote:So, does using that 120v charger help to preserve the battery life?
No

Some do a DIY adapter so that the 120v charger will plug into and accept 240v and work at 12 amps for faster charging.

Re: Bakersfield to Santa Cruz and Return in a Chevy Bolt

If you continued on the 152 past Casa de Fruita and did not switch to the 156, you missed the most beautiful aspects of the road trip to Santa Cruz (and instead went through “scenic” Gilroy). I have never experienced heavy traffic on that route. PS: when the Chargepoint in Paso Robles is down, I dri...

Re: Do not use EVgo fast chargers. No, seriously. Just don't.

The EVgo "haters" who propogated this thread primarily lived up in Northern California and had more options. Down here in Southern California, EVgo was a primary source for DCFC's long before they changed they membership plans, and were a good alternative even back then too. They are just...

Re: Do not use EVgo fast chargers. No, seriously. Just don't.

...As I posted today, the chargers in Paso Robles and King City are so reliably broken we had to change our route to run by EVgo stations--which were working. ;) Paul Had same issue at Paso and King City in June And July, and also reported the problems to ChargePoint. Ended up marooned on L2 in Kin...

Re: Extending battery life

I have to agree: my 2017 Bolt EV has 21,500 miles and shows NO noticable loss of battery capacity even though I faithfully charge my Bolt up to 100% every night. There was a flurry of posts on this forum one year ago from non-Bolt EV drivers (mostly Leaf and a Mercedes driver) who spoke from experie...

Re: Bakersfield to Santa Cruz and Return in a Chevy Bolt

I miss the Pacheco Pass since there is no DCFC north of Lost Hills on Interstate 5 before the 152. Hopefully you took the scenic route: 152 to 156 through Dunneville (nice cafe stop for breakfast or lunch and supplies) to the 25 to 101 south briefly to the 129 to Watsonville and then the 1 up to San...

Re: Do not use EVgo fast chargers. No, seriously. Just don't.

You guys probably know this, but..... With the new 45 minute time limit and new price policy of 20 cents per minute (no matter how much power you take) the charging automatically stops at 45 minutes. BUT THEY KEEP CHARGING YOU 20 CENTS PER MINUTE FOR AS LONG AS THE CORD IS ATTACHED TO YOUR VEHICLE....
