Bluetooth and the Bolt

I am finding Bluetooth very unreliable with an Android 7.0 phone and the Bolt. One minute I have a connection for music and phone usage, a few minutes later the connection disappears and I cannot get it back without un-pairing and starting over again. I am reading about problems with Bluetooth, it certainly seems less reliable than Wi-Fi. Maybe a software update for my phone and/or the Bolt will help.

I am keeping Onstar's hands-free calling partially because of Bluetooth's instability but has anybody had such issues and found a way to make Bluetooth more stable?

Same problem; came looking for solutions. Nexus 6P running Oreo, so it's not that I have some obsolescent version. Kept dropping hands-free calls as the Bluetooth connectivity--inside the Bolt!--kept disconnecting. Disconcerting!

Ditto, will drop phone connectivity but keep media.
