Good news. Which car did it defeat to claim the top position?

It won Car & Driver's 10 best award too. That said, it was the only EV in the test, and Tesla didn't provide a car to compete with it. I doubt it would have made a difference since they seem to favor the Bolt because it's value proposition makes it tough to justify an extra $30,000 for a Model S.

"The Bolt was also the only EV in this year’s test. We would love to tell you how it compared with the pricier and glitzier Tesla Model S, but despite our repeated requests, Tesla refused to supply us with a car and thereby failed to defend its 10Best berth."
