Claimed three times higher energy density than lithium ion batteries, longer lifetime, charging in minutes instead of hours, lower risk of explosions and fires, and potential cost reduction by using sodium instead of lithium.

If it can be scaled up commercially, the advantages for electric vehicles and storage of energy to keep the lights on at night (when solar is not contributing) are obvious.

"Additionally, because the solid-glass electrolytes can operate, or have high conductivity, at -20 degrees Celsius, this type of battery in a car could perform well in subzero degree weather."

Awesome, count me in. Perhaps Lithium Glass really is the "game changer" we're looking for.
