So are we all going to end up buying our cars after our leases are up?

Great topic. This my first lease. Got it because I thought there would be spiffier EVs in 3 years. One year from lease end I'm not finding this to be the case. The only thing close is the Kona. I like the faster charging and HB configuration but I don't like the slower acceleration. The...

    Hot Garage

My situation is that we park under the house on a concrete slab with the sun never hitting the car or around it and a wall or two preventing hot air from blowing in much when the temp is high. So I'm probably in the wrong thread, except that the discussion is relevant to the question of whether...

has anyone found success with TOU (time-of-use) rates at home?

For Sacramento CA folks and as an indicator for what other utilities might offer, here's a website quote from the local utility - SMUD: "For plug-in electric vehicle owners, there is an additional 1.5¢ per kWh credit for charging your EV between midnight and 6 a.m. every day, all year long...

    Hot Garage

There have been several different observations and suggestions on the discussion board about dealing with battery conditioning when the car is sitting at your house in hot weather. This last one by plj leaves me confused. As described in that post, the battery conditioning came on when the car...

Rear Cargo Board is Dealer Optional

I have a Premier. The false floor came with. I usually stick the charging cable, maybe an extension cord, and the shopping bags under the false floor To go tangental. I was recently ranting to my wife about not being able to fit 2 roller bags in the way back. She wondered why I didn't try...

    Vacation Storage Plan

I'll be away for three weeks leaving the Bolt in the 90 plus, day time heat of Sacramento. SparkE's "rocket surgery" sounds like a great way to get the automatic battery conditioning for the heat by keeping the car plugged in without causing the battery to be kept at a high charge level. I'm...

    Remote AC/heat adjustment

Patronus has it right but to expand slightly... If you're not plugged in, the car will still precondition the car for whatever your HVAC setting was when you turned off the car, using the battery for power. The loss of charge to the battery isn't very big, at least for AC. Recently, I was...

    Fob quit working.

Thanks. I never heard more from my dealer. But the problem hasn't occurred more than that one time, so I've put it on ignore.

Outdoor cover for my new Bolt

Folding in the mirrors - great idea. We're in an ag area so the cover is to keep some of the dust off. The carport is under the house, we're on pilings because we're next to the Sacramento River, and removed from the front door so the cover appearance isn't a big deal.

Outdoor cover for my new Bolt

Thanks for the picture posting advice. It looks small to me, but I think I have it in the message. I agree, the look is baggy for my taste. The manufacturer suggests that pockets for the exterior mirrors wear out quickly so it doesn't have them but that adds to the baggy look. I also wish...

Outdoor cover for my new Bolt

Carcovers.com advertises a cover for Bolts. I have it. I'd be happy to post a picture if someone can direct me to instructions on how to do that. I looked at the relevant "images" question on the FAQs and I didn't find it helpful. I need "Picture Posting for Dummies."

Anyone else played video on their infotainment screen?

Good questions. There are probably other systems but I'm looking at using a video camera from Arlo https://www.arlo.com/en-us/products/arlo-pro/default.aspx or Nest https://nest.com/camera/meet-nest-cam-outdoor/ I don't know beyond what's on these webpages. You evidently can monitor the views...

Anyone else played video on their infotainment screen?

A recent rash of mail thefts in our neighborhood along with a breakin or two makes me want to put a video camera at the end of my driveway that would capture the cars driving by, and stopping at mailboxes. I'm thinking about one of the systems that can display the video on my mobile...

Which options are worth having others not worth it.

I've had the Bolt for 2.5 months and driven it 1900 miles. Love it. I've used the DCFC the two times I've driven to San Francisco from Sacramento. With the round trip and various side trips around the city, that's just outside the comfortable Bolt range when the weather is chilly. Getting...

    Fob quit working.

After 2 months, my every day fob stopped working for a while today. Interestingly, it happened while at the dealer to finally get the front license plate holder attached. The dealer tested the fob to confirm it was putting out a signal but the fob had no affect on the car locks, starting the...
