    My 2017 Chevy BOLT EV

Since our 2017 has functioned flawlessly, there's no possiblility the later years could be better built. How could they improve on total quality? Bells and whistles can be added, but can't make them more reliable. jack vines

    Snow tires sanity check?

We are using aftermarket 16" steel wheels with Nokian winter tires. Works perfectly, rides better. jack vines

    Seven Years of Bolts!

We've owned at least one of every Saab made over the past fifty years; currently still have one 9-5. We mourn their passing. As to rebadging the Bolt as a Saab, a rose by any other name still smells as sweet. The Bolt is by far and away the best car we've ever owned. ICEs by nature are...

2021 Bolt - Loud rubbing noise when hard braking

Often a pebble caught between the dust shield and the caliper. jack vines

Congrats on being patient. We're waiting our turn and later is better; more warranty down the road. jack vines

How Much I Paid for My Bolt

At present, used Bolt prices are an anomaly in the marketplace. There are so few for sale in any given locale, chances of finding a steal deal are slim and none. Having said that, keep looking regionally; anything can be anywhere. Bottom line - if you can find the right deal and get in line...

    Texas Bolts

Yes, the Bolt is near perfect for 99.9% of daily vehicle use. The Bolt as a useful medium distance road trip vehicle depends upon the driver/passenger's ability to adapt and change. There are many Bolt owners who laud the every 150-200-mile stops to recharge as a benefit; a more relaxing mode...

Driving in L uses More Energy?

Yes, in a vehicle designed to accommodate that style of driving. No, it's not possible in a Bolt, but then it's very easy and intuitive "To driver perfectly in Low you must perfectly reflect your intention in the pressure you put on the accelerator." Maybe, accept that the methods OP suggests...

The Chevy Bolt Requires Little Maintenance

2017 four years in and zero maintenance and zero trips to the dealer; the underhood is only lightly dusty. The brakes will last forever. We drive for weeks without ever using the friction brakes. jack vines

    WHEEL SPACERS?

FWIW, the Bolt is a very tight fit around the OEM tire/wheel. There is essentially no extra space for a wider wheel or a taller tire. Suggest before investing any money in spacers and/or custom wheels and/or other than OEM tire size, do a trial fit. jack vines

No roof rack for the LT???!!???

It took you a few years to get their attention, but AFAIK, all Bolts now have roof rails. BTW, we don't share your beef; it's the one feature of the Premier we've never used in four years. jack vines

What is the fate of the market for 2017-19 Bolt EVs?

Yes, No, Maybe. No one on a public forum has sufficient information to answer your question. There will be WAGs and lunatic fringe opinions and a few well-reasoned discussions, but it's unknowable at this juncture. Get back to us in a year with what you learned. jack vines

    RECALL

My experience over many years is corporations are never, ever "on our side." Short term profits and long-term survival are the only decision points which get serious discussion in high level meetings. FWIW, 80,000 Bolt owners are ant-shite in the greater GM volume thinking, but again, my...

    Wheel Spacers

The Bolt front suspension and sheet metal is wrapped so tightly, fitting wider/taller tires and wheels is problematic. My recommendation is don't buy any spacer, wheel or tire for the Bolt unless the seller money-back-guarantees it will fit and not rub anything under any condition. jack vines

How do you disengage the cruise control in single pedal L mode?

New owners cruising in L will soon develop the reflex of positioning the the foot on the accelerator pedal so as to avoid the rapid decel when either button or lever is activated. Some only cruise in D or develop a three step process of shifting to D and then deactivating cruise. jack vines
