First time with the Bolt in heavy snow

Driving up the inclined driveway in reverse sounds like a good idea, maybe I'll try that next time (if I don't have winter tires yet). Thanks!

First time with the Bolt in heavy snow

My Bolt was twice trapped at the bottom of an icy driveway in recent weeks, spinning its wheels uselessly. All of my neighbors using the same driveway had no problem with their AWD vehicles. So I figure the source of the Bolt problem is the two-wheel drive. My next electric vehicle (when the...

Under settings what does" device remote access" reference

I tried to get KeyPass to work, because I figured it might be useful to remote-start the Bolt from my phone, but the process setup was so complex and seemed so prone to failure (e.g., if remote-start signal can't penetrate walls) that I decided to stop trying after about a half-hour of effort.

Finally ran a USB cable for iPhone mount with "minimal" visibility

Thanks for the recommendation; I ordered one.

EVgo DC chargers were horrible up until the beginning of 2018. They're still not perfect, but improvement is being made.

I also recently had a very poor experience with an EVgo charger, when with my Bolt almost completely depleted, and the weather extremely cold, I drove to a mall where PlugShare reported that fast chargers were present. They turned out to be EVgo, which I'd never used before, but I figured to...

Indication for auto seat heat please.

In my Bolt, the seat heater remembers its setting between when the car is turned off then on again, but the dashboard forgets. So if I set both the seat heater and dashboard to 3 dots, then the seat goes back to 3 dots worth of heat the next time I start up the car, while the dashboard reverts...

odd photo related to the phone charging pocket

I noticed that occasionally a mysterious complex image would pop up on the center-screen dashboard, but then disappear within about a second, too quickly for me to make out what it showed. For a long time, I couldn't figure out how to trigger its appearance. Finally, I discovered that the image...

How Much I Paid for My Bolt

Disposition fee is most likely $395. If they say there is no disposition fee, they probably mean, "there is no disposition fee as long as you renew your lease with GM." Acquisition fee is most likely $595. It might be folded into the monthly payments, but it is still $595 sitting there somewhere.

Question: Your Top EV Info Resources

I also relied heavily on forums to gauge owner satisfaction and dealer pricing.

How Much I Paid for My Bolt

In my opinion, the Bolt is the finest car that I have ever driven. Until now I'd only bought foreign, and I never thought that I would acquire a domestic car, but the first (not exaggerating) test drive with the Bolt changed my mind. And the current crop of EV rebates means that the Bolt's price...

How Much I Paid for My Bolt

TCO = total cost of ownership = the actual total amount that you pay for the vehicle over the lifetime of its purchase or lease. Disposition fee = the charge you pay at the end of the lease if you don't renew the lease. You may also get charged separately for wear and tear, but that isn't part...

    Charge and range estimate

Personally, I leased instead of purchasing because I'm guessing (and it's just a guess) that affordable battery capacity will increase in three years. EVs are still new enough that their depreciation rates don't have much history to go on. The lack of clarity around depreciation is compounded...

What is a good Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) for a Premier Lease

The average TCO seems to vary by state, judging from the deals posted to this bulletin board, with the best prices available on the West Coast and in New England. When I calculate TCO, I include all costs and rebates, including the state rebate -- anything that is related to the direct purchase...

    Anyone Else Get Buttonholed Recently?

I've given at least 10 test rides in my Bolt, even though I've only had it a couple of weeks. Everyone who tried it out was astonished (in a good way) at the experience, and two of them vowed on the spot to get a Bolt of their own.
