    Automobile Magazine Article

http://www.automobilemag.com/news/wither-the-electric-stovebolt-gm/ I pretty much agree with everything Kitman has written here.

    Battery recall

GM monitors the condition of the battery cells and if they fall out of specification it triggers an in-car alert to you that is followed up with an email alert. This isn’t 100% fool proof but it is a good proactive approach. And remember, there are lots of failure modes in ICE cars that can...

    Bumpy Ride - Stiff Suspension

If you don’t like the Bolt’s ride and expect your Tesla Model 3 to be softer riding you might be in for a surprise. Already a 7 page thread in the Tesla forum about the Model 3 “bad ride”. https://teslamotorsclub.com/tmc/threads/model-3s-bad-ride-quality.105757/

JDapter (trademark) Tesla Charging for all

The new Tesla universal mobile connector (UMC) is what is being referred to above as the Tesla L2 mobile EVSE. It is sold only by Tesla and intended for use on Tesla vehicles only as it has the proprietary Tesla plug. You would then have to buy the J adapter in addition to the UMC to be able...

    Bose Question

The 7th speaker is in the Bose subwoofer under the rear cargo area. That being said, speaker count has no real correlation with sound quality.

BOLT SEAT ISSUE - no DATA thread

Auto manufacturers make unannounced running changes to production vehicles all the time - with no provision for retrofitting previous cars. Nothing new here. Get used to it.

BOLT SEAT ISSUE - no DATA thread

There’s also a YouTube video on how to add additional padding to the seat back. It’s a little more involved but not really that hard to do. I sat in two recent build (October 17) Bolts at my dealer. They both definitely have more padding in the seat cushion than the earlier cars. Maybe Chevy...

    Bumpy Ride - Stiff Suspension

My Tesla Model S ride is not at all soft and Motor Trend reports the new Model 3 has a “decidedly firm ride”. If you want a soft, floppy ride the Leaf might be your only EV choice. For many of us, Bolts suspension is an excellent compromise between handling and ride comfort. I hope GM makes...

    Loss of miles / charge

I have a Tesla and a Bolt. Charge my Tesla to 100% repeadly for a few days and you get the on screen message: “frequent full charging will result in premature battery degradation. Fully charge only when necessary for trips” JB Straubel, Teslas chief engineer has stated the 50-62% storage...

    Loss of miles / charge

Lithium batteries show minimum degradation when kept around 50% SOC. There’s plenty of evidence in technical papers and EV manufacturers such as Tesla to support this. Keeping the battery “as full as possible” is not good advice.

myChevrolet app vehicle status does not update

Mine did not work after delete app/reinstall either. But after I set up keypass again it worked - both when connecting via onstar or by Keypass. The onstar rep suggested this and he stayed with me on the phone throughout the procedure. He admitted that the onstar servers were down and only were...

Vehicle status - "KeyPass Setup Required"

Posted on another form that GM is having issues with the on star server. They are aware of it and promised a fix sometime on Monday.

    More good press!

Not a single problem with my 4 month old Bolt with nearly 5K miles. A lot more reliable than my Tesla Model S. Its needed several repairs that would have cost many thousands if out of warranty. That's only one data point but I don't think my experience is too far from normal. I only hope the...

    September sales up - 2,600

I'm glad to see this too. My Bolt, in many ways, is just as satisfying as my Tesla model S. Bolt is smaller, lighter, simpler, and actually more practical for many uses. But I love them both! EV adoption is still way too slow, but I feel like the "tipping point" is coming faster than many...

BOLT SEAT ISSUE - no DATA thread

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=2dgxWTOnVn8 I cannot, for the life of me, understand why people don't do this simple mod. It only takes a few minutes and costs maybe $5. If you can't do it, I'm sure an upholstery shop could follow the YouTube video and do it for you. I used only one 1/2 inch...

    Transmission leak?

Great to hear! I was pretty sure they'd get it resolved. After several more days of normal use, you're confidence should be mostly restored. My Tesla Model S (like many earlier ones) required a complete drive unit replacement. Some have had the unit replaced multiple times - so far only once...

    Transmission leak?

I sure understand your frustration with the drive unit leak. I've had a couple of new cars over 50 years of driving that had to have major repairs when nearly new. Both times the outcome was completely satisfactory and both went on to become reliable and satisfying vehicles. I recount this...

Buy a $5 piece of foam and spend 15 minutes installing it. Your seat will feel better.

Bolt Front Seats Recall Media Campaign

I don't understand why Chevy seems to be slighting Canadian buyers. There were a few Bolts brought to Fl from CA before the order books opened here. I got a brief test drive but was allowed all the "seat time" I wanted in several in-stock cars. Sat probably a total of 30-40 minutes in a...

Bolt Front Seats Recall Media Campaign

Another observation: Early Tesla Model S had seats that were deemed uncomfortable by many. It took Tesla 2.5 years to offer a $2500 "upgrade" to slightly better seats. Tesla never came up with a "fix" for earlier cars and never offered any remedy. It's not reasonable to expect Chevy to do any...
