New Bolt won't add to MyChevy app

Just turned in my leased 2017 Bolt and bought a 2020 Bolt. I can't figure out how to remove the old Bolt and it won't let me add the new one. It keeps saying try again later. I've been trying for hours. Side note: I'm sad they eliminated the unlock button on the back door. Camera looks...

I had a full aftermarket sound system installed. Major improvement!

I don't crank it that loud very often ... but when a good song comes on sometimes you just gotta do it! Besides, only Guns n Roses songs really hurt lol.

I had a full aftermarket sound system installed. Major improvement!

I'm pretty happy with the Bose system. It sounds very clean for a stock setup. I have a $4k system in my FJ Cruiser so I know what a great system sounds like. The Bolt's Bose system doesn't even come close at extreme volumes, BUT it still sounds pretty decent. It doesn't HIT like my FJ does...

Help me understand how regen works

Good question. I suppose you'd have to be a Chevy Engineer to know exactly how different levels of resistance are created. It's definitely software based, because it knows when the battery is full and unable to accept any regen. That probably doesn't answer your question, but since I don't...

    Pics of your dashcam installed

Well, the Bolt wll pass with flying color. I took my car to Jiffy-Lube for the inspection and it was free (they bill Uber). It was a walk-up inspection. No wait, no cost, and no problem. I was in and out in less than 10 minutes. I recommend it to anyone looking for a little extra cash...

    Pics of your dashcam installed

No, there are no signs posted yet because there's no dashcam installed (in the Bolt) yet. The sorority girl's conversation is an example of something that was really only funny because of the way she said it. The way she said it just made me chuckle. They weren't overly drunk or behaving in...

Poll for which Bolt improvements matter most to you

I'm sure power to the Homelink buttons can be disabled when the vehicle is OFF. The whole point of having a hardwired Homelink button is so you don't need to have an always-on remote control clipped to the visor.

    Pics of your dashcam installed

My previous experience with dashcam was great. It saved me some hassle when a branch bounced off my hood while I was driving. I was on a country road with no witnesses, so it would have been just my word on how the hood got dented. Thankfully I had the dashcam and my claim was "investigated"...

    Pics of your dashcam installed

I'm looking at buying a dashcam in the very near future. I have a BlackVue DR600 in my FJ Cruiser. Love it, but I need a passenger-cam (second IR camera) in the Bolt for Uber driving. Everyone loves the Bolt btw. I hear "it's like a spaceship" at least 4 or 5 times a night. The blue light...

Controlling Music On USB Memory Stick

Oh man the GUI on searching for songs on a memory stick sucks. It's hard enough to find a song but trying to find ANOTHER song after that is really annoying. Once you go into a folder, getting back out is terrible because you basically have to start over at the top directory. Very bad design...

    New 2019 Color "Shock"

Are there any new features on the 2019 Bolt?

EVgo DC chargers were horrible up until the beginning of 2018. They're still not perfect, but improvement is being made.

The EVGo in Salinas (next to Knob Hill) times out in 30 minutes. You can restart it via the app, but another service charge applies. IMO this should be illegal. Why in the world is there another service fee other than the fact they are getting away with it? That being said, at least it's...

First 350 kW charging station in U.S. is open!!

If DCFCers were as common as gas stations, that would affect my opinion. Right now, chargers are not as frequent so not only do I have to spend more time filling up, I also have to drive way out of my way to find a charger. If infrastructure for the Bolt was on par with Tesla, there's no doubt...

First 350 kW charging station in U.S. is open!!

I'm all for more DCFC ... but for me ... I will still take my ICE car on road trips. DCFCers are comparable in cost to gas. At least it's not enough of a difference to entice me into spending +60 minutes at some out-of-the-way charging station every 2½-3 hours of driving. Example: Pismo...

    EV Driving Quiz

Antonio from Venezuela spent $629.03 on electricity to travel 15,000 miles. He saved $820.96 @ $2.32 a gallon. If Antonio lived in Los Angeles, he'd have paid $4 a gallon for gas, or 0.22 a kWh. He'd have saved $1,435.49 if he lived in California.

Hilltop Reserve/Regen change after software update

I had hilltop reserve active all week. I charge every day while I'm at work. Several times, last week, I noted I wasn't getting full regen when I was stopping at the lights between here and the freeway. I would still get some regen... but not full WHOA. It doesn't feel as consistent as it...

Problems, Bugs, Weird Stuff, Glitches, Concerns Here

INTERMITTENT WIPER controls are backward. The knob lists the values as short to longer and longer bars ... essentially indicating the interval between wipes would be longer. --- ----- -------- ----------- The short bar tells me the interval would be short... right? NOPE! In the Bolt, the...

I took my car to the dealer Wednesday. The update took almost 2 hours. I was told it was an unusual update because someone had to sit in the car with their foot on the brake the entire time. Foot off = fail. Then when it was done the car kept giving some kind of initialization error message...

    California Clean Vehicle Rebate

Thanks for the confirmation. I was hoping for a quicker turn-around than that, but I won't lose sleep over it. The rebate is "fun-money" so I'm looking forward to the toy or vacation it'll buy.

    California Clean Vehicle Rebate

I've applied for the California Clean Vehicle Rebate of $2500. FYI, you can apply for this rebate anytime after getting the registration to your car, and it's available to all California residents whether you've leased or purchased. You do not need to wait until tax time to apply. After I...
