    Cold Weather Issues

I live in the SF Bay Area (rarely below 35F) and buy my "anti-freeze" washer fluid when I am in the Sierras, or visiting Reno. I only add it when going to those places (or just before going). I don't fill up full full and I add water when I get back home (where it barely freezes, ever). So if...

    2017 Silver Bolt Premier

CA requires that HYBRIDS have a 10 year/ 150K mile warranty (including PHEVs). I know of no special law in Calif for pure EVs.

Stop by sometime when someone is charging and ask. Maybe wikipedia was wrong.

    New NACS to CCS1 Adapter

And V3 Superchargers started rolling out in quantity beginning in 2021 (I think) - there are a LOT of them now.

    New NACS to CCS1 Adapter

Oh, and there are (since early 2023) a few "Magic Dock Superchargers " with CCS plugs + credit card readers: https://electrek.co/2023/09/26/tesla-expands-superchargers-non-tesla-electric-cars-us/ Magic Dock locations have a an adapter built into the station so you can use the Tesla app...

    New NACS to CCS1 Adapter

According to the " Frequently Asked Questions " at the link I posted above : Generation 3 and above Superchargers will be enabled for non-Tesla vehicle charging throughout 2024 in a staggered rollout. Generation 1 and 2 Superchargers will not be accessible using the Lectron Vortex Plug.

    New NACS to CCS1 Adapter

Info on the NACS -> CCS1 adaptor can be found on Lectron's site (take with a grain of salt) : https://ev-lectron.com/products/lectron-tesla-to-ccs1-adapter-tesla-supercharger-to-ccs1-adapter-compatible-with-gm-ford-rivian-mercedes-nissan-500a-1000v Personally, I am wondering how "plug and...

    Looking at 2019 Bolt EV

You should look at a mobile app called plugshare. (It is also a web site at plugshare.com). It is completely free and a great way to find chargers near where you live - very important if you can't charge at home. You can configure it to only show certain charging networks, or certain types of...

    DCFC Solenoid Activation

I don't think that the warranty is over. the charging socket is part of the "charging system", and should have an 8-year, 100K-mile warranty, not the 36-month warranty for everything else.

    DCFC Solenoid Activation

Bring it to a dealer ASAP - it should be covered under warranty (since it is a 2019, hopefully you bought it after May 2019). At any rate, it seems that the charging socket is part of the "charging system", and should have an 8-year, 100K-mile warranty.

I seems that the closer they get to a "real" fix, the more denials are issued.

Chevrolet/GM update on new battery software package

Am I mssing something? Is this any different than simply setting "Hilltop reserve" (for older Bolts) or setting max SoC to 80% on newer Bolts? Well, I *suppose* that it does have some diagnostic features that will warn if it detects bad cell(s) ...

EVgo DC chargers were horrible up until the beginning of 2018. They're still not perfect, but improvement is being made.

ChargePoint aren't much better along that route. A little, as you can get to Blythe (a dual unit install east of Palm Desert and a dual unit site in Blythe) but you can't get from Blythe to Phoenix just on ChargePoint. They also should install a 3-4 unit site near New Hope. (Or maybe near the...

EVgo DC chargers were horrible up until the beginning of 2018. They're still not perfect, but improvement is being made.

I just looked at the map of EVgo fast charging installations in the Western US. Bizarrely, there are zero in OR and almost none in NV or AZ. 12 or so in Las Vegas, 5 or so around Reno -Carson city, just 8 in Phoenix, 2 in Tucson, and 1 about halfway between those two cities. Nothing east of...

Actually, no. OP changed the subject/title of the first post on the thread. When I noticed that, all I did was change the title on the (then) most recent posts to reflect the OP's new title (as "Replies" copy the title/subject from the post to which one is responding, and not the title/subject...

EVgo DC chargers were horrible up until the beginning of 2018. They're still not perfect, but improvement is being made.

EVgo was a subsidiary of NRG (cute name, 'energy'). They started as a subsidiary of a very large power (electric) company that was accused of market manipulations, price fixing and gauging during the ~2000 Calif energy scandal. They were going to be sued by the state, but they came to an...

    Design defect in 110v charger

OR, you could use some of your junk mail to make a white 'tent', with 'flaps' on the sides and use two rocks to hold down the paper so that it doesn't blow away. Then you place the 'tent' over the plug so that it is in the shade. Voilà !!
