I think that is wonderful. We have become so dependent on modern technology that we can become lost in the event of a natural disaster. We might consider not just shipping bottled water and generators, but also gravity driven water filters and solar powered lanterns.

Imagine if each mayor in Puerto Rico had access to a EV power source and a ham radio operator. They would have been able to communicate. What a thought. Of course, I still think it was a mistake to remove morse code literacy from the ham licensing process. Jeff

Dummy me... After owning my Bolt for 8 months I discovered that you can remove the tray in the Center Console to reveal a LOT of extra storage space. So this is a post for other dummies like me. I also note that the center console locks if you slide the padding forward. Jeff

In the event of a natural disaster with long term loss of power, can a fully charged Bolt be used as a power source? This is assuming that the 12v outlet plus an inverter could tap into the 60 kW capacity to power say a TV for public use and a phone charging station. Jeff

I traded in a highly modified 350z (e.g. aftermarket supercharger etc.) for a Bolt :) I tired of all the noise my Z made which seemed to spark a competitive streak even in grandmas in their mini-vans. Don't underestimate the stealth of a quiet car under acceleration or the advantages of a low...

So to be clear: The night mode darkens both the drivers display and the center console. The low power mode blacks out the center console. Jeff

You may want to try the "night mode." 4 Dots --> Settings --> Scroll Down to "Display" --> Night Mode Jeff

Or perhaps having an all electric car in the mix increases your options if you are a "dual fuel" household. Jeff
