    Off grid charging the Bolt

I live in California and with all the electricity shut off talk , I decided put in an emergency solar system in with Lifepo4 batteries . I designed and built it myself, one of it’s jobs is to charge the Bolt with the 120 volt charger. The reason for this post is to alert Bolt owners about a...

    CCS Network

To highlight the absurdity of available ccs chargers today. On a recent trip I stopped to charge at the Santa Clarita mall on Newhall road, there are 2 50 kw chargers tucked away on the far eastern side of the parking lot. In the middle of the parking lot close to the shops and restaurants there...

Sonoma county to Orange County and back on Hwy 99.

I forgot to mention that day time temps in the Central Valley were 100-105 F on our trip so we had the AC on all the time. Also I tried to keep the speed at 70 but because of traffic our speed varied between 65 - 75 mph.

Sonoma county to Orange County and back on Hwy 99.

When we leased our car on the suggestion of a post on this forum we sat in ten Bolt before we found comfortable seats. Therefore the seats were not an issue. When I did my trip planning I5 does not have enough fast chargers to enable this trip yet. There are plans in the next year or so to put...

Sonoma county to Orange County and back on Hwy 99.

Took the Bolt on its first long trip, 960 Miles 4.0 mi/kw. Stopped three times to charge going, made rookie mistake of not going far enough on the first leg with a full charge. Stopped at Atwater, 1 50 kw charger, Delano 2 50 kw chargers, Santa Clarita 2 50 kw chargers. Having learnt my lesson...

has anyone found success with TOU (time-of-use) rates at home?

I got my Bolt in March, with the California ($2500), PG&E ($500)and Sonoma clean power($250) rebates I installed a 2kW solar system myself. The 325 watt panels were $174 each and the Enphase IQ6 Plus inverters were $140 a piece, with all the other component the costs were covered by the...

The seats are a deal killer.

We bought a bright blue LT last Wednesday from Fremont Chevy. It took sitting in ten cars until we found good seats, this is proof that if you are patient it is possible, others have had success also. But I recommend you go to a volume dealership so that you can try lots of cars. First visually...

How many actual Bolt owners on this forum?

Leased a metallic blue LT yesterday from Fremont Chevy , it came with a HOV sticker already attached, very useful, got to drive in the HOV lane on 680 on the way home. Love the car.

The seats are a deal killer.

This empirical information is very interesting because it is one of those rare occasions where everyone is right. If there are truely such inconsistencies in the seats the people who think the seats are fine and the people who think the seat to be uncomfortable and painful are also correct. We...

The seats are a deal killer.

I started this thread to alert people that there is a seat issue, mission accomplished. Perhaps it would be more beneficial if people started to post their solutions for this problem. I am personally looking for a way to make this seat more comfortable, but have not found a suitable cure yet...

Which Bay Area dealerships to go to and which to avoid.

I would suggest you get your deposit back, they sound untrustworthy. If you live in the bay area go to Fremont Chevy, they have a lot of Bolts in stock. If you live in the LA Area go to Rydel chevy in Northridge. Good luck.

    ~450 Bolt EV's in Stock

To me it appears that after the real EV enthusiasts the market seems pretty thin. There was a survey that said 60% of the American public don't know that plug in electric vehicles exist. Very disheartening for us that embrace renewable energy. I would like to know how many people know who the...

The seats are a deal killer.

My advice to you is to be sensible, once you have picked the Bolt you want, take it on a twenty minute test drive that encompasses as many road conditions as possible. If the seats are not an issue, then you have done your due diligence and can drive in comfort and enjoy your wonderful new EV.

The seats are a deal killer.

I wonder why there are so many posts on this thread. More evidence that where there is smoke there is fire.
