Bill Kay in Naperville has several Bolts now. I sent them a message and responded "These vehicle are for sale and available for test drive."
Emphasis mine. So I guess it's game-on in Illinois!
Teslas can use L2 also, so that can be ignored for comparison purposes.
The 2 superchargers in Denver have 10 plugs between them. The 3 DCFCs have ONE plug each for a total of 3 plugs. So even in Denver city limits the supercharger network wins! And you also have to consider the very real...
It's a good thing then that Tesla is planning to double their supercharging network by the end of THIS year. Some sites with have "several dozen" chargers. I am a CCS user currently and I cannot even fathom how amazing that would be!
Meanwhile GM plans to sit back and watch Telsa eat their...
Nailed it. I also like the Bolt a lot and may even buy one, but the Tesla has a lot more going for it than the Bolt does. The supercharger network has no realistic competition at this point.
Glad to hear this useless annoyance can be so trivially disabled.
If someday this law is revised to apply equally to all cars instead of singling out EVs, I'll reconsider.
If form factor + electric are your only concerns, I would check out the i3. It's extremely comfortable and the form factor is nearly identical to the Bolt. The coach doors are a negative vs Bolt if you have a frequent need for rear passengers. There is plenty of room in the back however.
Can't...
Don't listen to the poster above. I'd estimate EVs have has 95% leases for a very good reason: They (other than Tesla) have so far had TERRIBLE resale value, even excluding the $7500 rebate. That is by far the biggest reason to lease. And the tech is changing by leaps and bounds every 2 years.
Lease for 2 years with the $7500 credit back from the leasing company. Then lease again for 2 years with another $7500. That's what I'm doing. No unknown depreciation risk AND cheaper than a purchase. ;)
Of course this requires a manufacturer that offers competitive 2 year leases and the full...
100% wrong. Like some other posters I've never leased a car before I switched to an EV. You are still missing the many clearly laid out examples where is SAVES MONEY to lease an EV vs purchase, given all the current variables in play.
 The increases in weight and efficiency have been...
