At the Chicago Auto Show press conference, GM North American President Alan Batey said "we have not said where we will sell it outside the U.S. yet" but they are planning to.

For now, GM has said the Bolt electric car will be available in 50 states.

And now rumors of being available in Europe - I guess, if this isn't a compliance EV like the Chevy Spark EV, then why wouldn't they offer it in Europe, and Canada, and worldwide? If they want to compete with the Nissan LEAF and the Tesla Model 3 then they will have to offer it worldwide.

We'll see - right now it's just a nice-looking orange EV carrot dangling 2 years in front of our noses :D

Perhaps tomorrow at CES we'll know more, but I would like to know what states the GM Bolt will go on sale in when it is launched in late 2016?

All 50 states - no staged rollout like the 2016 Volt. Various GM people have mentioned this a recently as a few days ago.

Ok that's awesome to hear :D

Sounds like what Nissan did with the LEAF - they were serious about selling it so they made it available everywhere!
