At the Electric Vehicle Symposium and Exhibition earlier in May, LG Chem announced it is ready to supply up to 120 kWh battery packs to EV manufacturers that want to build vehicles to rival the Tesla Model S.
LG Chem is already the manufacturer of several lower-range EVs, like the Spark EV, Ford Focus EV, Renault Zoe, Volvo xc90 T8 and Chevrolet Volt.
Although LG Chem can build 120 kWh battery packs, the upcoming Chevy Bolt EV likely isn't large enough, so will probably end up with something around 50 kWh. But with the recent announcement by Nissan to increase the LEAF's pack to an optional 40 kWh, perhaps 50 kWh isn't large enough for the Bolt!?
