Need help projecting from S7 edge

For the LIFE of me I cannot figure out why the car wont recognize my phone to cast for navigation (we know Onstar is useless for this).
I plug it into USB but the car doesnt recognize anything.

Any thoughts? I doubt I'm the only person to have this issue.
I'm going to drive for UBer or Lyft and need to figure this out. Please help!

Make sure you use a Samsung cable. I couldn't get it to work with a generic cable. Works fine with the Samsung cable.

The worst thing to happen to USB is the flood of "charge only" cables that lack a data connection. It just confuses the hell out of everything.

The project worked BUT AA takes over the phone and I can't see the Lyft app anymore.. I have to hit close all like 10x to get lyft to open (I"m a driver)
