Stereo question: do not automatically turn on!

There are 2 related things I want from my Bolt stereo that I haven't figured out how to do yet. (Perhaps it is not possible):

• do not turn the radio on when I start the car
• do not switch to radio when I unplug my iphone. If I'm not listening to media on my phone my bolt should assume I want silence.

I've been poking around in settings and the owner's manual but I haven't figured out how to do this. Is it possible?

It appears to me one cannot turn radio off at all. We just turn it down. You can hold that button down, it does not power off. Crazy.
