    Infotainment Software 14.1.0 to 14.4.2

I did the upgrade yesterday. No Problem, other than the cheap USB drive (corporate giveaway) I used first wasn't recognized by the system. and it actually felt a little loose in the socket. After frutzing with that for a while, I copied the files to another USB, and that worked like a charm..

    Vacation Storage Plan

For 5 weeks at up to 25c - 77f, I would simply get car to about no more than 80%, and leave unplugged. I have done a similar thing for 3 wks, which was what also was suggested for the less robust Leaf. The issue seems to be the 12v battery discharging. I have not charged the Bolt for a week...

Looking for Purchasing Advice from Bolt Owners

I have a Preimer and have the DCFC added on. The 120v charger I think is standard. And yes, there are 3 DCFC standards. CHAdeMO Used by Asian brands. CSS is a standard developed by European and US makers. Bolt uses CSS. Tesla is used only by Tesla. . There may be adaptors, but at...

Anyone tried Waze on Android Auto

I drove with both today. For me, the only advantage of this version Waze is the road alerts people enter, or your ability to enter road hazards. Entering these on the Bolt screen is easier then on a phone. It takes a while for me to get zoomed to the size of map I want. It doesn't have the...

Anyone tried Waze on Android Auto

I have tried Waze on my Bolt, and still can't decide which I like better, waze or google maps. I do use and enter advisories on it. I find entering a hazard easier and safer on the Bolt screen than a phone. I have a 3 hour drive tomorrow, and use both at some point.

GPS signals can be affected by buildings, trees and other factors, as well as you phone and it's GPS quality and location in the car. Updated GPS satellites are scheduled to be launched

My Motorola Droid Turbo 2 works. Took a few tries.

    Winter driving?

The reason I suggested chain is that, in my experience, only when required, that are needed for a few miles when cresting a pass.

    Winter driving?

I have not seen winter reviews yet, since not many got delivered in time to play in the snow. That being said, I am not sure where you are. My Leaf handled ok in the snow, although I only had a few chances to drive in it. The roads get plowed, but not down to pavement, so I wasn't trail...

    Radar Antenna?

While washing my Bolt today, I was working on the front end, in the black area that has the bow tie attached. It appeared that the plastic area has small plates embedded, which became a wire, that turned into the back or the cover. My impression that it might be a radar antenna.. Can anyone...

The Death of my Range Anxiety

We also have a ICE hybrid car, and I could have taken it, as i have in the past. But my wife hates readjusting the seats and mirriors after i drive it. The town I live in is a small beach resort on the Delaware coast.. When driving all over town, the beaches , and neighboring beach towns, it was...

The Apr 2017 EV Sales Numbers are in (1292 Bolts)

I am happy to be one of the April deliveries. However, I had to go out-of-state to get my Bolt. At least 3 Bolts in Delaware came from MD.

The Chevy Bolt Is the Ugly Car of the (Very Near) Future

I bought my Bolt BECAUSE it was utilitarian and not a sedan. My wife already a sedan. I have only had 3+ passengers 4 times in the last 5 years (including our sedan and the Leaf). But i have had real cargo many times, and only the Bolt (or the old Leaf) could handle it.

Trip Report - My First 250 Round Trip Commute to Work

None of the Bolts currently have Adaptive Cruise Control. Using cruise control evens out all of the little adjustments you consciously and unconsciously make to the accelerations you make while driving. I have tested cruise control and non-cruise control on a 40 mile drive I make every week...

Trip Report - My First 250 Round Trip Commute to Work

Excellent report. One thing that might help is setting the cruise control, if you have it. It adds mileage to any car (electric or ICE).

The Death of my Range Anxiety

I owned a Nissan Leaf for 3.5 years. Because of the area we live in, there are few chargers, other than my local small town. With the 84 mile range, almost any time I left town, I would need to plan for recharge time. Until recently, the nearest L2 charger (aside from the 16 in my beach town...

    Programming Garage Door Opener...

True, that is possible.. Often in the morning I am on automatic pilot until the caffeine kicks in, and my mind is really on the rest f the day as I pull out of my driveway :)

    Programming Garage Door Opener...

For those who have a "Did I close the Garage Door", I do too.. I installed a motion detector on the garage door rail, linked to my home automation network. The automation system then sends a notification to my phone when the door closes.. I have a unique sound that catches my attention..

My bitch list for the Bolt

I also do this on some of the LEDs on various indicators.. I generally poke a small pin hole in the tape, so I am able to verify they are working.

    Waiting for a Bolt

On the chat line, I had the order number and VIN, and they gave general answers, like shipping and intransit. They don't seem to have anymore information than that. There is also an 800 number to call.
