Found an interesting article talking about Volkswagen's battery future... talking about solid state batteries, and how they could get over 400 miles per charge.

Back in November, Volkswagen Group CEO Martin Winterkorn said he saw “great potential” in solid-state batteries, claiming they could potentially increase the range of an electric car to over 430 miles per charge.

The current e-Golf has an EPA-rated range of 83 miles, which is about mid-pack for a car in its price range. However, The impending launch of the 200-mile 2017 Chevrolet Bolt and Tesla’s Model 3 will raise the bar in that segment.. The second-generation Nissan LEAF is also expected to benefit from a major range increase.

Volkswagen is having some problems with its suppliers and work force right now it'll be interesting to see if that affects production of any of its vehicles
